Fillings/Restorations
We in our Clinic allow the patients to choose various options available to restore the cavities in their teeth. Composite or tooth colored fillings, white Glass ionomer filings, silver amalgam fillings are a part of our options. In addition to the above options cavities can also be filled with ceramic inlays or ceramic onlays. Ceramic inlays and onlays are ceramic preparations to be cemented in the cavities of the teeth.

Dental Implants:
If teeth, which cannot be saved, are extracted then they have to be replaced at the earliest possible to maintain esthetic and functional harmony.
Until now removable partial dentures or fixed bridges were the only options available. But lately we have the option of using dental implants on patients who are otherwise healthy. We are now entering the era of using Implants to replace the missing teeth.
Implants are titanium screws placed in the bone where a normal tooth would be and thus replaces the missing tooth in the best possible way. Once placed in the bone the screw fuses with the bone or becomes a part of the bone in about three months and is then capped with a ceramic crown ready to take the load of a normal tooth.
Implant retained dentures is the best option in patients opting for complete dentures. These dentures stay in place very firmly.
Crowns and Bridges

Ceramic Crowns are placed on teeth which are weak, discolored or are endodontically treated. These crowns once placed on teeth restores the teeth to its functional and aesthetic form. There are two options in ceramic crows available. One which is ceramic fused to metal and the other metal free ceramic crown (INCERAM or EMPRESS).
Ceramic Bridges are placed in the mouth to replace missing or extracted teeth. Adjacent teeth if healthy are taken as supporting pillars for the missing span. These bridges are cemented permanently on the adjacent teeth. The bridge once cemented in place functions as a replacement for natural teeth. This procedure is completed in two visits spaced four to five days apart.
Metal Free Ceramics

Today the option of using metal free ceramic materials gives the patient opportunity of demanding quality dentistry and excellent aesthetic results on their dentition.
There is no metal alloy used as a core material as done in porcelain fused to metal ceramics. Thus we can be sure of having the margins of the tooth intact colour long after it has been placed in the mouth with no marginal exposure or discoloration of the prosthesis or gingiva.
The crowns and bridges are made of Empress II, Inceram and Wolceram as the case may demand. The results in metal free ceramics are pleasantly surprising. It takes two visits to the surgery spaced over a week to complete this procedure.
Ceramic Veneers/Laminates
Ceramic veneers are ceramic prosthesis placed on the teeth permanently. These veneers are thin shells of ceramic bonded on the teeth to give the teeth the desired shade and shape and can be used as a long term solution to teeth whitening and extreme smile makeover cases. The results with veneers are just brilliant. The material used is Empress II aesthetic. This is a two appointment procedure wherein on the first visit measurements of the teeth are taken after shaping the teeth to desired contour and size. The second appointment is four to five days later when the prepared veneers are bonded to the teeth.

Root canal Treatments/Endodontics
When teeth are decayed to the extent that simple fillings would not suffice or that the tooth pulp itself is infected then Root Canal Treatment is the alternative to save the tooth. We provide you with the necessary skill required to save and restore the tooth to its functional health. The best materials available in the field are used during the procedure.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
In patients who have lost most of their teeth due causes unavoidable we take care to rehabilitate the occlusion in the best possible way. Be it with implants, crowns, bridges or dentures as the case requires. This brings back the functional efficiency of the person thus enhancing his overall personality and health. This procedure requires patient cooperation and possibly more number of visits to the clinic to achieve desirable results.

Teeth Whitening
We at our clinic provide chair side as well as home bleaching options for the patients interested in getting a whiter shade for their teeth. Bleaching the teeth in the clinic takes about 40 mins whereas the home bleach is used by the patient by the patient on a custom made tray made to fit the teeth to be used at night. Duration of the tray to be kept in the mouth is based on the strength of the bleach used. Bleaching, however, does not keep the teeth permanently white. Those who want to have a more lasting whitening result have the option of getting veneers placed for better results.

Bone Graft
The success of a dental implant, its ability to support a dental restoration, is very much dependent upon how much bone is available in the site where the implant is placed. There are lots of things that affect the bone volume including things like periodontal disease, trauma and infections and it is not unusual to open up a site in the mouth for implant placement and find out that some of the critical supporting bone is missing. No problem.... We have great techniques available to us to replace missing bone. We can increase the height of bone and the width of bone. We can fill in anatomical voids in bone thereby creating new bone and we can fill in all sorts of defects that develop when teeth are lost. We can even use grafting techniques to prevent the loss of bone in circumstances where bone would normally be lost like the extraction of a tooth.
Replacing missing bone or adding to existing bone is very often essential to the success of a dental implant and the ensuing restoration. The techniques to do this are well documented and should be used when indicated by any dentist who places dental implants. Most of us will have a good idea when additional bone or bone repair will be necessary before actually starting the placement of a dental implant and the patients should be informed of this possibility. Sometimes, however, we do get fooled and run into areas where unexpected bone grafting is indicated. As long as the dentist is prepared to replace or add to the existing bone and the patient understands the bone grafting procedure, there should not be any problem with these techniques. |
