Personal story till surgery:
I've always struggled with my weight, but reaching the 300 pounds mark as really the turning point in my life, I had no will to do anything, was always tired, and working for 13 hours a day left me completly dead at the end of the day. My days off were spending sleeping to recover my energies.

Your diet experiences:
Tried everything from tablets, to Rosemary Conley, Weight Watchers, milkshake diet u name it I've done it, it would work for a while and the the weight was back on plus the extras.

What is your reason for surgery?
My reason for surgery is have better quality life with my husband, being able to do things that normal people do, my husband is very fit and I felt I was always holding him back. My health was a important factor I'm newly wed and I want to spend the rest of my life with my husband being happy and enjoying ourselves ( we love holidays abroad and he would love to go to a aqua park but I was mortified I would get stuck in one of the rides, plus the seat belt extension what a nightmare.

Personal experiences in Belgium:
I loved belgium, everyone looked after me and Marc and Dr Dillemans were outstanding. St jan is a very big hospital but I only had to share my room with an old lady for a day and for the rest of my stay noone was with me, I had private toilet, and nurses were realy caring. They allowed my husband to stay past visiting time what was really great.

Results after 1 month – 3 month:
Can't answer yet, but in the first 6 days i've lost nearly 13 pounds.

What did you find difficult comparing with before surgery?
I've been doing fine so far and haven't found anything difficult, but is early days.

Would you do it over again?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS, and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Personal story till surgery:
I have always struggled with my weight all my life I think it all started as a child when my mother took me to the doctors because I was not eating properly and she was worried because I was not gaining weight as I should have been, from then on both my parents tried everything to get me to eat from making funny faces out of food or making me milkshakes with lots of fruit and ice cream in them.

Your diet experiences:
I soon started putting on weight and eating as they thought I should but I just kept on eating and gaining weight every year I gained a stone in weight when I was 13 years old I was 13 stone and so it went on at my highest weight I was 21 stone and I tried every diet you can think of from Atkins which is a low carb diet to weight watchers which is calorie counting I yo - yo dieted for years I lost almost 5 stones at one point but then gained all the weight and more. The problem is I didn’t have the will power to stop eating all the foods that had made me fat in the first place.

What is your reason for surgery?
I wanted surgery six years ago when I got to the lowest point in my life I was extremely depressed and went to my G,P who after I paid privately sent me to a surgeon who did stomach stapling this surgeon was quite rude about my weight and told me to go away and go on a 1000 calorie a day diet which obviously I couldn’t stick to because I am a comfort eater I eat when I am depressed, the more weight I gained the more I ate because I was depressed it was a vicious circle so I went away feeling bad about myself I felt a failure.

Personal experiences in Belgium:
I then finally decided to have gastric bypass surgery after researching it on the internet I looked at lots of sites then found this one and telephoned them right away I was put in touch with someone who I could talk to who didn’t make me feel bad about my weight, I then met Marc when I went for my surgery in Belgium who talked to me about the surgery in great detail he had also had a gastric bypass so understood my hopes and fears about the surgery I was the taken to the hospital where I met the surgeon who was so nice very helpful and made me feel at ease the hospital was spotless very clean and the staff very friendly I was up and walking around after a day resting, my experience of Belgium hospitals was a good one.

Results after 1 month - 3 months:
A month after surgery I had lost around 1 stone - 7 kilos now 3 months on I have lost in total 3 and a 1/2 stones around 22 kilos. I have to be honest I thought I would lose the weight much more quickly than I have but I still have a long way to go I only hope that my weight continues to come off.

What did you find difficult comparing with before surgery?
What I found most difficult after surgery was that I still wanted to eat all the things that I did before surgery but obviously I couldn’t if I did try and eat too much I would vomit and feel really ill I also found it quite hard not being able to drink alcohol because since surgery if I drink I get very drunk very quickly and feel really ill the next day, it takes a while to get used to your stomach and I still have the fear that I will stop losing weight and starting putting weight on again like all the times when I have dieted before but that’s just psychological unfortunately only your body changes after surgery not your mind.

Would you do it over again?
I would have the surgery again most definitely I have no regrets.

I came back from Prague a few days ago. My head is filled with good memories and they will remain there for a very long time.

Not only is my face-lift operation a great success, I have been treated like a princess all along. There are many thanks I would like to pass on. Everything was taken care of, from start to finish. All three of us arrived here on the 31th of July for the Breast Enlargement operation.
We were all very nervous and excited. Dr. C is very professional and gave us the best advice considering the size and shape to suit our body shapes etc. We are all extremely pleased with the results. Although we have experienced quite a lot of pain and discomfort mostly during the nights, it got much better very soon. They say this is to be expected due to the implants being applied behind the muscle. We would advise anyone coming to Prague for this surgery to bring somebody along, to help with shopping, lifting etc. All the staff we dealt with were readily available when needed and frequently checked on us via visits and telephone. The apartments are really lovely and the location is excellent. We would recommend Prague clinic to anyone who is anxious to travel around for Surgery, the clinic is fab and once you visit, you will feel extremely welcome.
